Chadd Burckhardt
Owner and Chiropractor
Chadd has been practicing since 2008, treating people from all over the world. He is serious about providing the best chiropractic care and experience to his patients, and appreciates the value of good will and good humor. He believes your family will find The Wellery to be an effective, yet fresh and fun approach to chiropractic.
Through 2016, he practiced in Maple Grove, Minnesota, specializing in women and children’s health. From 2016 to 2019, he and his wife Melissa moved to Bangalore, India where he practiced full-time. In India, he also volunteered weekly at Accept Society Orphanage for children with HIV, as well as Sukrathum Home for Boys where he provided chiropractic care to the children, residents and staff. This experience further strengthened his love for caring for children and solidified his plan to open a practice dedicated to serving families upon return from India.
He is certified in the Webster Technique, a specialized prenatal chiropractic method that helps ensure the pelvis and surrounding structures are properly supporting the growth and development of the baby. He is also an active member in The Pediatric Experience, an organization dedicated to bringing top pediatric chiropractors together for training and further education. In March 2022, he received his Certificate of Proficiency in Pediatric and Family Chiropractic Care by the Life University Department of Postgraduate Education and The Pediatric Experience.
Jessica Ferlaak
Patient Care Coordinator
Jessica and her husband have three beautiful boys. Wanting to give her kids the best start possible, the health and wellness of her children became a family priority. She discovered chiropractic care when her second son experienced constipation when transitioning to solid foods. After no improvement with conventional advice, she found Chadd, and after a couple visits, they had progress. Jessica loved that the philosophy of chiropractic care was to restore the body’s imbalances to allow for optimal healing, rather than suppress symptoms.
In 2017, the unthinkable happened. Their youngest son Aric (1 ½ years) was diagnosed with a rare pediatric brain tumor. Their first instinct was to find natural therapies to support his body – keeping it as strong and as healthy as possible throughout his intense treatment plan. Natural therapies helped reduce the magnitude of side effects that came with debilitating cancer treatment. She learned to become a strong advocate for her child, and their confidence that natural therapies and conventional treatments can support one another further strengthened.
Aric passed away a couple days before his 3rd birthday. They miss their little guy dearly, but have channeled their loss into living lives full of love and appreciation for him. Aric inspired Jessica to continue her education in natural health. She completed an Herbalist apprenticeship through Medicine Tree Herbal Pharmacy in Minneapolis, MN, and she is continuing her holistic studies.
The Wellery is grateful to have Jessica as a Chiropractic Assistant. Because of her commitment to advocacy, understanding, and empathy, she excels at working with children and families. She is excited to help your family’s wellness journey!
Naomi Nelson
Patient Care Coordinator
A student at heart and avid traveler, she lived overseas for ten years after graduating from St. Kate’s and moved back to the area to be closer to her family in 2018.
She has lived in Christchurch, New Zealand where she worked on a graduate degree and then taught English to adults from all over the world. She loved the extreme beauty of the mountains, fjords, forests and glacier fed lakes, as well as the friendly and laid-back Kiwi culture but did not enjoy the earthquakes!
She also lived in Germany where she traveled extensively and ate as many brezeln (soft pretzels), brötchen (rolls), and sauerkirsche (sour cherry) jam as she could get her hands on, not to mention enjoyed fantastic beer, and helped edit academic papers, articles and book chapters.
Perhaps the most difficult but rewarding experience was living in India, where she helped launch the opening of an international postgraduate university in a rural city known for its influence on the Buddha in the fifth century BCE. She’s a lover of animals, believes in doing everything with kindness and compassion, and loves working with and supporting The Wellery team and community.
Katie Wessels
Patient Care Coordinator
After some gentle nudging from her husband, Calvin, to turn a passion into a career, Katie graduated from MNSU-Mankato (go Mavs!) in 2017 with a degree in Child Development and Family Studies. Katie has worked at several daycare centers, both in-home and center-based, and has loved taking her skills and applying them directly to families’ health and well-being here at The Wellery. Her positive attitude and patient approach with children allow her to communicate effectively and make them feel heard and valued. Katie has enjoyed learning more about the numerous benefits of chiropractic care and looks forward to helping families achieve their health and wellness goals!
When she’s not at The Wellery, Katie enjoys channeling her personality into baking, interior design, and working on projects for her home. She’s on a quest to travel to all 50 states (19 left to go). And while she doesn’t do most of the driving, Katie enjoys taking road trips with her family to explore new places (mostly the warm ones!).

Allie Knutsen
Certified Massage Therapist
Allie has dedicated most of her adult life to being a massage therapist. A few years ago, she briefly explored a different career path in software, but she eventually found her way back to her true calling—helping others through the healing power of massage.
Allie grew up as a multi-sport athlete, with a particular passion for volleyball. Her athletic background naturally led her to a career in massage therapy, where she discovered a love for the active lifestyle it promotes.
She graduated from Northwestern Health Sciences University in 2012 and began her career working for a chiropractor and naturopath in the Twin Cities. She then transitioned to a spa, where she spent several years building a diverse client base that included triathletes, mothers, seniors, professional athletes, bodybuilders—you name it! During her time at the spa, Allie earned her Level 1 Craniosacral Therapy and Myofascial Release certifications. She combines sports massage with trigger point therapy and relaxation techniques, ensuring that each client leaves feeling wonderfully whole.
Outside of work, Allie enjoys spending time at her family’s lake home, where she can be found paddle boarding, tubing with her nephew, playing beach or grass volleyball, golfing, or taking her dog on long walks. An avid traveler, Allie is always ready to plan her next adventure!
